Meet The Designers on Hat Day!
Catherine has always had a passion for fashion, entertaining, gardening and all things that make a house a home. Growing up she spent many hours flipping through her mothers extensive collection of style and design books and then recreating the details in her childhood home. After graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in Horticulture, Catherine went on to work full time for a local flower business in Middleburg, Virginia. After a 9 year run with the company (which had begun while she was still in school) Catherine decided to start a new venture. In the Fall of 2013 Catherine went into business with her sister Meggie and founded Catherine G. Damewood, LLC Purveyors of Fine Florals & Design. In her spare time Catherine enjoys re-purposing auction finds, painting, reading, gardening and relaxing with her husband and their two adorable rescue dogs at their home in Purcellville, Virginia.
Meggie was extremely excited to join her sister in this amazing adventure of starting a business. After a career as a commercial interior designer and then later in commercial furniture sales she decided to leave the hustle and bustles around the D.C. beltway for a more tranquil life in Loudoun County. As an undergrad Meggie studied abroad in Florence while majoring in Art History at Virginia Tech. Through her time there she fell in love the Mediterranean lifestyle--living life to its fullest and making it a priority to cherish family, friends, delicious food and wonderful surroundings. Her firm embrace of these cultural elements heavily influence her work. Loving all things beautiful she is very excited to help create beautiful surroundings and experiences for clients. When she in not working she enjoys cooking, reading, and all things art related. As a newlywed Meggie resides in Leesburg, Virginia with her husband (and hopefully a rescue puppy of their own in the near future).
